Week 5 Post: Striving to Perform

High performance is highly sought after in many aspects; the tech world is no exception. Computer performance is examined in many ways, from boot-up time and speed within the machine, and for some, it may even include it's' read and/or write rate. One way to improve computer speed that is relatively simple and can even be done in the background operation of your PC and disk drive defragging. This improves your PC speed by taking data that is fragmented across the drive and piecing it back together, not only creating more space for data to be written on the disk but also making for better recall when the time comes, as the drive does not have to scramble to piece the data to complete the pull request. Defragging is most effective when done periodically and consistently. Defragging once every couple of weeks should be enough for the average user. Some PCs even offer you the chance to put it on a schedule when the drive analyzes itself and cleans itself up all in the background while you continue to use your PC as usual. There may be many ways to improve PC speed, but disk cleanup is not only easy but very practical when needing to use the computer simultaneously while it works on the data. Like everything else in the world, PCs are just striving to perform.
